Galloping Horse
The horse is rendered in bold, simplified lines and appears to be in motion, with its legs extended in a dynamic running pose. Its head is turned slightly to the side, showing an open mouth with visible teeth, giving the impression of vigor and energy. The overall composition and technique suggest a traditional, expressive style that emphasizes movement and bold design, consistent with classical woodblock prints.
Zuo Canma/左骖马/Left Side Horse in a Chariot
Zuo canma horse, the horse on the left among the four horses. In a quadriga (a 4-horse chariot ) is drawn by four horses abreast. The two horses in the middle are called the fuma (main horses), while the two on the sides are called the canma (side horses). Among the two canma, the left canma seems to hold greater importance. Being closer to the driver, it responds more quickly to driving intentions and exerts more effort.

How to Iron Out the Creases in a Rubbing This ironing process is not always necessary. In general, when a rubbing has been flattened out and placed securely in a glass frame, the creases will not show. If you want to remove them, this is the way to do it: 1. Unfold the rubbing and place it, face down, on an ironing board in the same way as you do when ironing clothes. It may be advisable to place a clean sheet of paper between the rubbing and the board. 2. Moisten the creased parts with a slightly damp cloth, being careful not to apply too much moisture. 3. Iron the creased parts gently with a bry iron at lowest temperature; this will basically remove the creases. It is better not to iron the parts of the rubbing with the design.
